Still Children away from Education

The government has introduced the RTE (Right to education)in 2009. But still it seems of not much worthy. Many of the reports from various news sources shows that approximate six billion children are away from education. Although communities and society/families can workout to set school Committees for providing education to the needy ones,But yet they are not fully aware about all this due to the lack of awareness. This seems to be a big obstacle in the way of RTE.It has an important role to play in ensuring child-friendly education for each and every one of the estimated 190 million girls and boys in India who are of elementary school age.

What RTE Says
The RTE Act, 2009 seeks greater involvement of communities in school development and management. The Act therefore makes the creation of a School Management Committee (SMC) mandatory for all schools.
School Management Committees are made up of parents, local authorities, teachers and children, with 75 per cent of members being parents and 50 per cent women.
Each committee will develop a School Development Plan for three years and will work with the local authorities and teachers to make the school child-friendly, including special provisions for out-of-school children and children with special needs.
But the actual picture is quiet different in most of the states. even in the so called financially good conditioned states. most of the states are not working on a satisfactory level for RTE and for the other programs planed for the elementary students.
