In India demand of corn is increasing very fast. Not only in Indian market but its demand is growing globally. Especially from India it’s going to US. Because of it’s a raw material for ethanol and it has comes as the energy crop in his new know avatar.
The majority of the renewable fuel used will be ethanol, resulting in the domestic ethanol industry doubling in the next six years. How big is this growing demand for corn use in ethanol? The US Department of Agriculture’s September 12 crop production report estimated corn used for ethanol will increase by 25%, from 1.6bn bushels in ‘06 to 2.1bn bushels in ‘07. In India especially in Punjab is a source of it. So there is a great hope for in increase in its export too. In India, it is the third most important cereal crop after wheat and rice Local trade can make quick return by exporting it.
